As a Ray Padula customer we realize your
committed to water conservation, it started
with the purchase of your Ray Padula product. Did
you know that correcting some habits you may
already have in-place regarding water usage can
save over 600 gallons of water a day! Now,
imagine if every person in the world
corrected those habits. That's a lot
of water! Practice some of these water
conservation tips around your home to start
saving today!
-
Place a thick
layer of mulch around your trees and
plants. Mulch rapidly slows down
the rate of evaporation and can save
between 700 and 1,400 gallons of water
per month!
-
Water your
landscape during the cool parts of the
day - early morning works best, as a
preventative for disease and fungus.
Watering during cool parts of the day
can save approximately 300 gallons of
water per month!
-
Don't water the
lawn on overly-windy days. This
may cause too much evaporation, or
wind-drift. Doing so can waste up
to 300 gallons of water in one watering!
-
Set lawn mower
blades one notch higher. Longer
grass means less evaporation. This
can save up to 1,000 gallons of water
each month!
-
Check hoses/ hose
accessories for leaks. A leaking
hose can waste gallons of water each
time you water your yard.
-
When washing your
car, never leave the hose running.
Attaching a Ray Padula nozzle is a great
alternative. Only rinse when
necessary and make sure the nozzle is in
the OFF position while washing.
This can save up to 20 gallons of water
per minute.
-
Use a broom when
washing your driveways, or walkways
instead of using water. Doing this
can save up to 600 gallons of water per
month when washing once a week!
-
Don't allow your
sprinklers to water your street,
driveway or sidewalk. Position and
adjust them so water lands on the lawn
and shrubs. Your driveway won't
grow no matter how wet it gets!
-
Avoid
over-fertilizing your lawn.
Fertilizer applications increase the
need for water. Apply slow-release
fertilizers when possible.
-
Do not leave your
garden hose flowing un-attended. A
free-flowing hose can waste up to 15
gallons of water per minute, or 900
gallons in an hour!
